Mythical Composite Bird Lifting Two Elephants
This is a decorative drawing of a mythical composite bird which in the Akbar period was known as 'simurg'. The head of the huge bird is like that of an elephant, also has long wings and tail, with are drawn in stylized outlines. However, the two elephants that the mythical bird has grabbed with its two paws are drawn in simplified naturalistic forms.
