Nayika
This painting portrays Nayika. It is surely one of the beautiful examples of Basohli Kalam. The savage intensity of early Basohli art is not limited to human countenances but is also seen in animals. It is evident in the wild yet adoring gaze of the herds of Brindaban and again in the intense faces of the antelopes as they share the grief of the waiting Nayika in the miniature.
