Astamangala or the eight providential symbols, are represented on the above and the below of the seated jina figure. These symbols are Darpana (Mirror), Bhadrasana (Throne), Samputaka (Heap of Jewela), Kalasa (Vessel), Srivatsa (Jewel), Mina- yugala (Fish Couple), Svastika and Nandyavarta. The Jaina families oDisplayer carved or engraved panels of the Astamangala symbols as part of regular worship and rituals.
