Harkuvar Shethani (1st half of 19th century) was the wife of Sheth Kesarising Hutheesing, who was one of the richest merchants in the history of Ahmedabad. He donated generously to many social causes. Among his pet projects was the Hatheesing Jaina Temple, which is today considered a landmark in Ahmedabad'sarchitecture for its intricate stone carving. Sadly Sheth Kesarising died before the temple could be completed. His legacy was taken forward by his wife, Smt. Harkuvar Shethani, who oversaw the completion of the temple and its consecration during 1847. The purse was donated to the L.D. Museum by the late Smt. Jyotsnaben Narottam.
