Rama killing demoness Tadaka, an Illustration from the m.s. (pothi) of Ramayana, Chitrakathi style (paithan) Maharashtra ca. A.D. 1850. The scene is laid in a forest depicted by a stylized tree on the right, a well and hillock. From the left appears the demoness Tadaka painted blue with loose hair wearing ornaments to attack Rama who is shown subduing her with a long sword and trampling on her foot. Rama wears a Mukuta, a tunic and stylized dhoti. Colours used are ultra-marine blue, brick red, pink, grey, red, bottom band in orange.
