Coins

The PT Munshaw coin collection exhibits coins from various mints across the subcontinent, from different eras. It provides a compelling chronology of economic and political events from 6th century BCE up to the present era.
Some of the earliest coins of India can be found here, including rare and unique silver bent-bar coins of 6th century BCE Gandhara, and the Punch-Marked coins from the 16 Mahajanapada. Other highlights include Mughal emperor Akbar’s Din-i-Ilahi coins and the silver Zodiac series issued by Jahangir, as well as the bilingual coins of the Indo-Greeks and Kushans.
