Folk Art

The length and breadth of our country has innumerable forms of folk arts and crafts, forming the rich cultural diversity of our country. Each region is known for its special art forms. These include wall and scroll paintings, paintings on wood, bead works, amongst others. 

The LD Museum has come remarkable pieces of Gujarati and western Indian folk art. A rich collection of bead works used as decoration for homes and animals, a large size Devnarayan Phad or scroll painting depicting local heros and their stories, and painted wooden kaavads used for narrating stories of gods and heroes.
