Rasikapriya
It illustrates verse no. 51 of chapter VIII of Rasikapriya, describing the hero's (or Krsna's) hidden stupor as a consequence of falling in love. Keshavadas often distinguishing between 'hidden' (pracchanna) and 'manifest' (prakasa) conditions of diDisplayerent emotional states of the lovers. The particular situation delineated here is significant in that, there are no outward noticeable symptoms displayed by the inflicted person. The painter visualizes a male figure (Krsna) in a mental state when his body has grown cold and he does not show any grief or pleasure, nor does he attempt to listen or give the impression that he comprehends.
Placing Krsna on a throne-like chauki he is seated in a huddled posture with bent knees, while his foot soles are squarely resting on the seat, as also his left hand. His right hand is placed on his left knee, and his gaze is vacantly held in the direction of the floor. The nayaka's (hero's) mental state is made further conspicuous by depicting the reaction of two maids who suddenly stop as they notice the hero's condition.
