Folio from Manuscript of Sikanadar Namah
A patch of water depicted in the basket pattern with interspersed fishes is depicted on the left-side perhaps to suggest a river, next to which a seated man is apparently writing on a manuscript page. An attendant is next to him. Another attendant (or scribe himself) walks towards the seated king in order to handover to himthe manuscript page. The king is recognized by the crown he is wearing, while an attendant is waving a piece of cloth over the king (which indicates a symbol of power). Therefore, this composition can be read as an episode of Emperor Sikandar, who is in an open-air setting in which plant forms are also interspersed. The background of the setting is like a red-coloured screen.
