Rasikapriya
The verse belongs to the chaper IV, which deals with diDisplayerent kinds of meetings between lovers. Keshavadas has described four kinds of meetings: meeting face to face, seeing the beloved's portrait, alternatively nayaka dreaming of his beloved, the fourth type of meeting, when the nayaka is hearing the nayika's voice.
In this painting, the nayaka or Krsna meets Radha in the dream as narrated in verse 14. The painter has conveyed the narrative through the manner in which he has placed on another terrace a dramatic group of three figures interacting with each other. The central figure is obviously Krsna, the nayaka, who is definitely in a startled position as he gesticulates his arms towards his companions who are listening and reacting to him with appropriate gestures and body language. The ghost-like curvilinear shape in white colour, which is presumed to be the covering sheet under which Krsna was sleeping before the amazing dream awoke him.
