Raga Purabi
This verse to be sung in Rāga Purabi says, “He (Krsṇa) ties the pāgh that is dyed in red color. His friends are pleating it for him and dexterously winding it (around his head). He has taken to wearing a kalagi (ornament on the head gear), an armlet and an eye-catching garland. Singar Sakhī utters, (so engrossed were they all and so long did they remain in the forest that) I gave my oDisplayerings of Sandhyā in the forest itself.”

This verse seems to be part of the huge body of Haveli compositions (Vallabhācharya’s Haveli cult) as it alludes to the occasion of Sandhyā darśana and oDisplayerings made at that time. Singar Sakhī, the composer of this verse, appears to be represented in the painting as the lone female amongst Krsṇa and his cowherd friends, with the oDisplayering of a garland in her hands.
