Kashmiri Tantrik Goddesses
Goddess Dhumavati 'The Smokey One'
She is seated on a chariot driven by two crows, a bird of ill omen. Ugly, fierce in appearance, unsteady and hungry, with sagging breasts, she is a goddess who is described as a widow. She embodies the nadir of creation and is identified with the residual smaoke of cosmic dissolution. The Fish-incarnation of Visnu emerges from the water in a gesture of reverence.
