Ragini Mallari
The verse describes what is called the guna, quality, of Mallari which is sung during the third prahar (approximately afternoon) during the season of monsoon (varsa).
"The nayika plays the vina quite deftly, singing Malar melody. The lightening dazzles through all the four directions. Heavy shower of rain is pouring as the birds are chirping within the thick grove of trees and the peacock is dancing".
