Ragini Bilaval
Bilāval is a morning Rāga. Conventionally it depicts a Nāyikā putting on the sixteen conventional adornments (which include eight types of auspicious ornaments) before the arrival of her beloved and admiring her in the mirror. This Rāgini though is depicted doing her hair while a female aide holds a mirror for her. Two women in the background are playing music, one is singing while the other accompanies her on the pakhāwaj. The morning time is vividly depicted with the dark sky turning reddish with sunrise and birds leaving their nests and beginning to fly, delineated above the roof tops.
