Ramayana
In folio 115, the story is picked up on the other side of the river. Thus, the river is delineated in the foreground diagonally as in folio 114. On its right bank is depicted the dialogue between Sitā and Laksamana, who informs her about her second exile, requests to be forgiven and takes leave of her. In the next scene, Sitā falls unconscious. It is in such unconscious state, Vālmiki and other inmates of the āśrama find her. The pregnant Sitā wakes up and greets the rsi with folded hands. Already the upper space of the folio is turned into the forest environment with varieties of animal species and groves of trees. On the lower left, the micro-episode of Laksamana’s return journey is delineated where he first crosses the river which is full of waves. Subsequently, he rides on his chariot, the front half of it is already out of the frame.
