Ramayana
In folio 114, the artist high lights Laksamana and his ratha placed in the centre, which is then placed in the foreground below. Laksamana and the pregnant Sitā enter into the frame, having already left the city and reached the forest area full of running deer and groves of trees. The river is drawn diagonally on the left with curved banks. Sitā and Laksamana after crossing the river by the boat, take a ritual bath and walk towards the āśrama on the upper right. The painter clearly depicts the distance covered and the mini-episodes in between, from leaving the city of Ayodhya at one end and eventually reaching the forest at the other end.
