Ragamala, Ragini Kamod
Chaupai:
Kāmodani is severely tortured with grief because of her separation from her beloved. She has renounced all comforts and luxuries and has found an abode on the bank of a river where she has also built a shrine. It is here in this desolate place that she comprehends Govinda, the eternal lover (who is always in her heart) with folded hands and oDisplayerings. There is no remedy for her other than to meet with her beloved. She is always thinking of how to charm and subdue the melody (Śri Rāga, of whom she is the consort). She desires with all her heart to become united with Śri Rāga. Whenever her passion is excited and she remembers her amorous sport with her lover, the fire of cupid incites fever (passion) in her body; her temples become hot and her ribs burn.
Doha:
The lady has forsaken all her finery, jewelry, other forms of adornment and even her bed after she was estranged from her lover. She is restless, her mind is disturbed and her body aches. Such is the mischief of Kāmadeva!
