Nobleman Listening to Music
A Nobelman is seated on a small carpet at the floor level under a white canopy held by four wooden posts. (These could also be of metai due to their slimness.) He is supported by a bolster and an attendant behind him holds the cluster of peacock feathers (morchhal) as the symbol of power. A musician in a squatting position is in front of him playing on tanapura. Obviously the nobleman is portrayed in a moment os ecstatically listening to music. His profile face and prominent eye do give the impression of a concentrated expression.
