Child Krishna with Jashoda and cowherd boy, Krishnalila theme
The facinating drawing invites close observation, which enables one to comprehend the unfolding drama. The little child in a crouching posture is to be understood as Krishna pleading with his mother, Jashoda, to let him join the cowherd boys and wander in the forest grazing the cows (gocharana). With his right hand he touches his moher's left hand and with his own left hand he is holding the calf's tail.
