On a white temple, very much shining,
She sits on a rug of deer skin,
Contemplating Śiva in her heart,
Leaving the hermitage, she sits in the wilderness,
Surrounded by trees of various forms,
On which monkeys gambol,
Clouds come thick and fast,
Below the shrine of Śiva sits a lion,
Beyond is a lake in which are lotuses,
And birds are frisking.
Doha:
Bengali is a separated heroine,
With her heart fixed on her beloved,
She does not enjoy the companionship on her attendants,
For she is anxious to meet her beloved.
