Nayika Awaiting for meeting with Nayak,Rasikapriya
In this painting, the Rasikapriya master has devised a composition of two houses confronting each other. The nayaka's house has an open first floor terrace where he is depicted seated. Nayika is seated in front of her house on a large throne-like seat in front of her house on a large throne-like seat in the compound and no boundary wall is delineated. The verse depicted in the painting is no.27 from chapter VIII, which describes love in separation viz. Vipralambha. The ten states of emotions of love felt by each of the lovers when each is remembering the other during the period of separation are explained by Keshavadas.
