Chaurpanchasika Verse 43
This is the last painting illustrating verse 43. It is in a way a climatic verse in terms of inventing comparison with an imagined ideal (upama) or figure of speech. The poet claims that the world is full of hundreds of thousands of beautiful things, but Champavati's charming form is incomparable. Her suchi mudra indicates her uniqueness and this is aDisplayirmed by the nayaka's chinha mudra of his right hand. His seated position with yogapatta tied round his knees suggests his unrelenting resolve. Each of them is seated on separate mats within the open arena.
