Satrunjaya pata
Shatrunjaya pata, the rectangular Pata, depicts a number of temple complexes each demarcated by an outer wall, (Kot) in the hilly countryside, which is inhabited by trees, bullocks, lakes, men and woman. At the left bottom corner in the town of Palitana from where pilgrims start their pilgrimage towards the temple of Adinatha; labelled as There are three boundary walls to this temple. The first enclosure depicts a tanks (kunda) which can be identified as Lalita Sarovara from where pilgrims are seen ascending the hill. Above this can be seen an enclosure of a subsidiary temple where ladies are selling flowers and devotees are visiting the shrines. In the centre, above this is the main temple of Rsabhanatha, flanked by a temple on either side. The one on the left enshrines a Jaina Chovisi while the other on the right enshrines one thousand Padukas, known as Shastra Pagala or Rayan Pagala. In front of the main shrine devotees stand with offerings. The main temple of Adinatha above is elaborately decorated with curvilinear Chhajas of Bikaner style. The outer periphery is marked with miniature shrines enshrining Jinas and other figures. The centre and right side of the Pata depict other temples located on the hills tops of Satrunjaya enshrining different Tirthankara. In the foreground can be seen the camp of devotees, their vehicles; horses,elephants,camels,bullock-carts, and tents. The temple of Rsbhanatha labelled as Adbudaji is the largest. To the right of it can be seen five Pandavas standing in the temple; a Kunda and some minor Shrines. Below is the temple complex of Siva Soma Vasahi of kharatargaccha. The extreme right of the Pata depicts a mountainous climb of Girnar, where pilgrims are shown ascending the hill. The colours used are red, olive green, pink, orange, blue, white and yellows. In many areas the green of the trees in repainted and some areas are left blank when the pata was restored in past.
